WHITESNAKE es una banda británica de Hard Rock, constituida en 1978, por el vocalista David Coverdale, cuya constante, es el cambio de músicos, a lo largo de su trayectoria musical.
David Coverdale comenzó labrar su carrera en solitario (proceso post DEEP PURPLE) junto al guitarrista Micky Moody. De esta unión musical surgieron los disco:
Para febrero de 1978, la primera surgió la primera formación de WHITESNAKE :
- David Coverdale – vocalista
- Micky Moody & Bernie Marsden – guitarristas
- Neil Murray - bajista
- Brian Johnston – tecladista y
- David Dowle – baterista.
Y de ella, se forjó el álbum debut, titulado: “Snakebite” de 1978. Así, con el pasar de los años, los cambios de alineación, la hibernación activa, los problemas de salud y demás, WHITESNAKE ha pasado la erosión y la prueba del tiempo… y su historia se puede resumir en tres etapas:
- De 1978 a 1986(consolidación del nombre a nivel mundial y de su estilo musical)
- De 1986 al 2002 (cambios constantes de músicos, problemas personales, adicciones y demás…) y
- Del 2003 a nuestros días (el grupo consolidó una alineación de tiempo completo: Reb Beach & Doug Aldrich en las guitarras, y David Coverdale en los vocales.
