PESTILENCE es una emblématica banda del Death Metal, fundada en 1986 … la cual no necesita mayor presentación… originaria de Enschede, Overijssel, los Países Bajos.
La cabalgata musical de PESTILENCE inició como una agrupación de Thrash Metal (influenciado por grupos estadounidenses y alemanes) y posteriormente pasó a interpretar Death Metal. Con el paso del tiempo, se incorcoraron elementos de Fusión y Jazz en su propuesta, finalizando la primera etapa de su existencia (en 1994) interpretando Metal Progresivo.
La popularidad de la banda creció con cada álbum a nivel mundial, pero, desafortunadamente, crecieron las discrepancias entre sus miembros., lo cual provocó su separación, sintiendo que habían alcanzado su clímax creativo.
En esta prolongada hibernación activa, Patrick Mameli (único miembro activo presente en la formación) desapareció del ambiente musical…
Para el 2008, Mamelli reformó PESTILENCE y optó por la fórmula que le dió éxito: el Death Metal.
